LABIOPLASTY

Labiaplasty is a surgical procedure that changes the size, shape, and symmetry of the labia minora or labia majora in the vaginal area. This procedure is most often performed for aesthetic reasons, increasing self-confidence, but also for functional improvements, such as reducing irritation or discomfort during daily and sports activities.

How is the treatment performed?

Labiaplasty is a precision surgical procedure that aims to reduce and shape the labia for functional and aesthetic improvement. The procedure begins with a detailed examination of the anatomy and marking of excess tissue to be removed. Performed under local anesthesia with sedation, or general anesthesia when indicated, depending on the extent of the correction. The surgeon removes excess tissue while preserving the natural shape and sensitivity of the area. The incisions are closed with fine absorbable sutures to achieve a neat aesthetic result and optimal healing. The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, under sterile conditions, and lasts about 60 to 90 minutes. The patient goes home the same day, with strict adherence to postoperative instructions. The result is a more symmetrical, comfortable and natural appearance of the intimate area, with reduced irritation and discomfort in everyday activities.

How long does recovery take?

  • Acute phase: discomfort, swelling and tenderness in the first few days; strict rest of the intimate area.

  • Restrictions: no sexual intercourse and intense activity for 2–3 weeks; return to daily activities within 7–14 days.

  • Final results gradually stabilize over several months as tissues heal

How is it performed?

  • Consultations: assessment, discussion and anatomy review

  • Anesthesia: local with sedation or general as recommended by the surgeon

  • Surgical procedure: labia reduction and reshaping according to the patient’s wishes

  • Postoperative period: rest, hygiene and following the surgeon’s instructions

When are the results visible and how long do they last?

  • After surgery, most patients see improvements immediately, but full results are visible after a few weeks.
  • Results are permanent, but natural aging and changes in the body may affect appearance over time.
  • Maintenance of long-lasting results is possible with additional corrections, if necessary, after several years.
